Legal and Ethical

What does ‘copyright,’ mean?
Copyright means when a business or a person puts a legal right on a name or product which excludes others from copying the idea or using that idea to sell on and make money from it.

Give three examples of different things, which you might include in your video and could be subject to copyright:
I used a theme track from a famous horror movie called the exorcist this could be seen as copyright.
I also used two clips from famous Hollywood films called the fourth kind and insidious this could also be seen copyright.
The scenes, which I used, were in the collages premises and without permission to film there that would have been a copyright theft.

List two websites that give copyright free music:

List a website where you can find free or low fee photographs:
Google Images.

Explain what a location release form and why is it needed for filming?
A location release is a binding contract between owners of private property and the photographer whereby the owner of the property grants written permission to shoot a movie or take pictures etc. it is needed for filming because it gives the producers the right to film in that location legally.

What is a contributor release form and why is it required?
This form shows that the person giving permission to film on there land etc has given permission and is allowing them to film there. This is required so that no legal action can be taken by each party concerning this part of the contract agreed between them.
