The values of e4, are represented in the ident because it is young, quirky and fun the toys coming to life is random and fun and is the sort of thing young people would find funny. The ident is also very colourful, energetic and action packed which appeals to young people and represents the channel. The brand is represented in the ident because the logo is shown throughout the ident and the colour purple is consistent and shown throughout the ident, and people associate the colour purple with E4. The Ident has very fast paste and is entertaining this keeps the viewer interested and entertained which would prevent them from turning to another channel. In the beginning everything is normal and calm then the surroundings starts to become colourful and the toy come to life etc. E4's target audience is young people from the age of thirteen to twenty-seven, the channel has many different programs that are for people of any race, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity and status. The ident appeals to the channels target audience because it is funny, quirky, random and keeps you entertained.
The Channel4 brand is represented in the ident the logo is shown at the very end in an unusual way. The ident is mature and calm because it has a slow pace and isn't packed with animation which represents the values of the channel and the target audience. The ident has a slow pace which in some cases might make the viewer bored and turn over but in this case the logo appears on the screen in a very interesting way which will make most viewers want to carry on watching to wait for the logo to appear. This idents target audience is people from the age of thirty it is also not for one specific type of gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity disability or status. The ident appeals to the channels target audience because it is calm and mature and represents all the values and the brand of the channel.
The idents are both very similar in targeting the channels audience successfully, and representing both the values and the brand. However they are both completely different in in the styles that they use.
